IRPC manages air emissions in petrochemical and refinery operations through a structured approach aligned with ISO 14001 and international EHS guidelines. The Company establishes clear policies and governance frameworks, overseen by an environmental management committee, and conducts comprehensive emissions inventories to track key pollutants, including SOx, NOx, VOCs, CO, PM, and GHG emissions from major sources. Measurable KPIs and reduction targets are defined and supported by air dispersion assessments to evaluate potential environmental and health impacts.
Operational controls focus on the deployment of best available technologies, including low-NOx burners, sulfur recovery units, and flare gas and VOC recovery systems, alongside the implementation of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) programs to reduce fugitive emissions. Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) are used to track performance, with results regularly reviewed, verified, and reported to regulators and relevant stakeholders.
In addition, IRPC strengthens workforce capability through training and promotes cross-functional collaboration to support innovation in emissions reduction. Air emissions management is further integrated with the Company’s broader decarbonization strategy through initiatives such as fuel switching, cogeneration, and renewable energy adoption, supporting both regulatory compliance and long-term environmental sustainability.
