Vajira Lab Achieves TISI Certification for Medical Testing

Anucha Somjitchob, Managing Director of Vajira Lab for Society Co., Ltd. (Vajira Lab), announced that Vajira Lab is the first private laboratory in Thailand to receive TISI 17025-2561 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) certification for testing medical materials and equipment. The certification was awarded in the field of single-use surgical masks and N95 respirators by Wanchai Phanomchai, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, acting as Secretary-General of the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), who presided over the ceremony. Associate Professor Dr. Anan Manomaipiboon, Dean of Navamindradhiraj University, also attended the event to offer congratulations at TISI meeting room 200, TISI Building.

Vajira Lab for Society Co., Ltd. was established through a collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital at Navamindradhiraj University and IRPC Public Company Limited (IRPC). This partnership combines medical professionals’ academic expertise with industry entrepreneurs’ experience in medical materials and equipment. The lab operates as a social enterprise to provide comprehensive analysis and testing services with state-of-the-art equipment. Their services ensure precise product quality assessments and international certification for medical products such as culture equipment sets, automatic bacterial counters, bacterial filtration efficiency testers (BFE), and air permeability testers (Breathability).

The certification of Vajira Lab’s capabilities according to TISI 17025-2561 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) with certification number 1669, in the field of testing single-use surgical masks and N95 respirators, represents a significant advancement in Thailand’s medical development. This certification, registration number 23-LB0032, underscores the quality standards of Vajira Lab’s medical product testing services. It enhances the potential and competitiveness of mask manufacturers in Thailand, eliminating the need to send products abroad for testing. This ensures that Thai citizens can use high-standard, safe medical masks.
