IRPC entered into MOU to develop Sufficiency Groundwater Bank
On October 12, 2022, Mr. Kris Imsang, President and Chief Executive Officer, IRPC Public Co., Ltd. presided over the signing of MOU to develop Sufficiency Groundwater Bank (SGB) with 7 organizations: Mr. Phayom Boonyoung, Executive Vice President, IRPC Innovation Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Gasaluck, President of Burapha University, Phratheppariyattimethi Thitapat Yansittipat, Assoc Prof Dr., Vice President of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University NakornSawan Campus, Mr. Boonchu Chansuwan, President of the Provincial Administrative Organization Council of Thailand, Dr. Phunot Saladtuk, President of the Institute for Research and Development of Creative Wisdom (ICW)? Mr. Chartri Srivichata, Chief Executive of Kaokham Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Amphoe Nam Yun, Ubon Ratchathani, Mr. Pawin Chantaphakul, Managing Director, Varshini Tech Co., Ltd. whereby Mr. Rathapol Unakanporn, Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Logistics & Operation Excellence addressed the objective.
This MOU combined cooperation with the establishment of a “model” learning center on water management of the Sufficiency Underwater Bank (SGB) system and research and development of materials use in integrated local water management by the Sufficiency Groundwater Recharge (SGR) tank system and the development of the IOT system “Smart Local Management: 5G Smart LGOA (5G Smart Local government organization Applications). It also developed the conceptual framework for research & innovation, create a body of knowledge for related agencies and serve as a regional learning center for management of water outside the irrigated area with groundwater bank system in accordance to the King’s philosophy on sufficiency economy. Groundwater banking is an innovative water management mechanism designed to increase water supply reliability and sustainability by storing water underground during abundant rainfall which can be used during dry season.
