IRPC joined the “Carbon Credit from Community Forests for Sustainability” project with the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (MFLF)
Mr. Pranarch Kosayanont Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy Planning and Business Development, IRPC Public Co., Ltd. together with Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage, partners from both public and private sectors joined the panel discussion on private sector’s policy on environment and sustainable development during the declaration of the intent to conserve natural resources by the networking partners of the Carbon Credit from Community Forests for Sustainability Project by the Mae Fah Luang Foundation Under Royal Patronage, emphasizing the cultivation of forest as greenhouse gases repository by creating incentives for communities to conserve forest and enhance the well-being of the communities.
This collaboration expands the carbon credit management project in forests for sustainable development in 129 community forests covering an area of 194,850 rai, with the goal to absorb 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent benefiting 25,082 families in the community forests and expected to increase income for community by Baht 500-630 million. In 2024, the project aims to cover another 150,000 rai to reach the goal of producing 1 million tons of carbon credits by 2027.
