The award was given to 6 operation units including 1) Oil Refinery, 2) Nano–chemical plant, 3) Lube Base plant, 4) Utility plant (Steam and Electric), 5) Polypropylene Compound plant, and 6) Ethylene plant.
With the Covid-19 pandemic impacting all business sectors, particularly the industrial sector, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) have collaborated with the Department of Industrial Works to revise the Eco Factory certification level to three levels: Level 1 Eco Factory Beginner, Level 2 Eco Factory, and Level 3 Eco Factory Plus, with the goal of promoting the Value Chain Network to be in line with the Bio–Circular–Green Economy (BCG Model) policy, especially the Green Economy towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Moreover, the IEAT has also developed an eco–industry to promote the BCG Model in accordance with the 20-year National Strategy framework (2018-2037), in which the BCG Model is considered as an important mechanism that would drive the sustainable development in terms of economy, society, and the environment by focusing on making the most efficient use of biological resources and repurposing as many materials as possible.
