IRPC together with Prostheses Foundation of HRH the Princess Mother and 95 prostheses factories nationwide join forces for the “From Wastes to Walk” project for equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
On March 9, 2023, Mr. Kris Imsang, President and Chief Executive Officer, IRPC Public Co., Ltd., Clinical Professor Niwet Nanthachit, Secretary General of Prostheses Foundation of HRH the Princess Mother, Mr. Pawat Vitoorapakorn, Chief Executive Officer, Eastern Polymer Group Public Co., Ltd., hospital director, doctor overseeing royal prostheses factory, physical therapist, prosthetic technician and mechanics helping people with disabilities across the country joined the meeting via Application ZOOM to move forward with the “From Wastes to Walk” project under the concept of “Moving Together”, by collecting leftover plastic parts from 95 royal prostheses factories nationwide and recycled to produce orthosis from recycled plastic for patients and disabled people with abnormal foot structures and deformed feet, creating opportunities for equal access to treatment with efficient use of resources to reduce waste, moving towards the goal of Net Zero in 2060.
Recycled plastic sheets that have passed properties test can be used in teaching mechanics to produce orthosis for disabled people with abnormal foot structures and deformed feet. In addition, such recycled plastic sheets can be used to produce orthosis for patients with mobility disabilities caused by stroke, spinal cord injury, children with cerebral palsy and patients with muscle pain.
