The Privy Council presided over the 157th Mobile Prostheses Project.
On Sunday, July 17, 2022, Professor Doctor Kasem Wattanachai, Privy Councilor and Executive Chairperson, Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H the Princess Mother presided over the launch of the 157th Mobile Prostheses Unit project at IRPC Sports Complex, Rayong Province. The event received honor from Dr Satit Pitutacha, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Public Health Thailand, Mr. Krienglit Sukcharoensin, Member of Prostheses Foundation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vajara Rujiwetpongstorn, Member and Secretary General of Prostheses Foundation, Dr Narong Apikulvanich, deputy director-general of the Health Department (Area Health 6), Dr. Sombat Chutimanukul, Director of Rayong Hospital , Dr.Pawat Vitoorapakorn, CEO of Eastern Polymer Group supported extrusion of PP sheet for prosthetic limbs, Mr. Rathapol Unakanporn, Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Logistics & Operation Excellence and Mr. Wichian Art-ong, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility & Community Relation, IRPC Public Co., Ltd. participated in the ceremony.
IRPC has continuously organized prosthetics mobile unit from 2011 to 2021 and produced 32,632 prosthetic legs for the disabled. This event provided services to approximately 114 people with disabilities in Rayong and nearby provinces, with the objective to improve the quality of life of the disabled and creating innovations in accordance to the Company’s vision. The company has donated about 20 tons per year of special grade polypropylene plastic resin (resulted from R&D with the Foundation of Prostheses) to be used as the main raw material in production. In addition, polypropylene scraps collected from the production of prosthetic legs will be recycled back into the system and research and development are made to allow the use of recycled plastic pellets in prosthetics for the disabled.
