IRPC Organizes CG DAY 2021 as Human Rights Model Organization
Mr. Chawalit Tippawanich, President and Chief Executive Officer of IRPC Public Company Limited, presided over the opening ceremony and shared the objectives of IRPC CG DAY 2021, which incorporated the Supplier Conference and the CG Conference activities under the concept of “Synchronization for the Life Balance: Collaboration for the Balance of Life” in order to promote and raise awareness of good corporate governance, business ethics, and respect for human rights by focusing on extending the concept of good corporate governance to all stakeholders and fostering a positive business culture that benefits society and the country.
Ms. Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol, Secretary–General of Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand (SEC), spoke at IRPC CG Conference on the topic of “Human Rights, Equality, and Gender Diversity: Limitations or Opportunities for Business Operations?“. The event also included the session of the declaration of intention for IRPC executives to pronounce their commitment in good corporate governance which was witnessed by a variety of stakeholders such as the Department of Industrial Works, Rayong Industrial Office, Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice, business partners, customers, communities, financial institutes, Thai securities companies, and the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) as well as PTT officials.
This year’s IRPC Supplier Conference featured a new procurement method called the “Sustainable Procurement with Harmony of Digital Life” which was created to facilitate business partners. In addition, a seminar under the topic of “How Human Rights Can Help Business Prosper? SHAPE What’s Good for Business with Human Rights“ was also joined by a number of Thailand’s notable gurus such as Dr. Seree Nonthasoot, Member of the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Ms. Nareelak Phaechaiyaphum, Director of the International Human Rights Division, Ministry of Justice, Ms. Thanyaporn Krittitayawut, Director of the Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT), Dr. Jeab Lalana Kongtoranin, Emergency Room Physician and President of Let’s Be Heroes Foundation, with Dr. Wit Sittivaekin as moderator.
The event concluded with a lecture by Mr. Pana Ratanabanangkoon, Director of the Private Sector Collective Action Coalition against Corruption (CAC), on “Corruption is No Longer in the Distance“ and received a tremendous success from over 1,000 attendees and business partners, indicating IRPC’s accomplishment in building a sustainable business networking.
